I didn’t really think I had any intentions of buying a Wii, but when I walked into a random Gamestop in Medford on Saturday, it seemed as though the stars had aligned and purchasing the oft not available Wii would indeed return balance to the universe. As you can see, I took the plunge and also ponied up for the new Zelda while the plastic was still a little warm. So far, I’ve logged in about 11 hours in Zelda and at least 4 hours in bowling and while it’s not exactly real bowling, it’s way closer continued . . .
I’ve seen enough CSI Miami in hi-def recently to understand that when you shoot someone, it makes a mess, a really big mess (especially when they show it in slow-motion) so what I don’t understand about the Phil Spector murder trial is how there seems to be a complete lack of evidence. Furthermore, there also seems to be a complete lack of credible interpretation of the evidence that does exist. What I’m really getting at here is rather than chasing down information on the internet, I would like to see the Phil Spector trial played out in continued . . .
Depending on how motivated I get, this may turn into a series of posts in appreciation of Black Sabbath, a band that gets a bad rap in some crowds either because of their name or Ozzy’s solo career and subsequent pop-culture personality. As a starting point, here are 10 reasons to consider Black Sabbath the best band ever. WARNING: I would not advise engaging in an argument with anybody regarding the best band ever. If it happens to come up over dinner, however, throwing Black Sabbath into the equation might return the conversation to a bearable continued . . .
So, this is yesterday’s Internet news today but after a conversation with Laura last night, I had to weigh in. My three readers deserve an answer. The article image is an old Pacific Southwest Airline advertisement featuring stewardesses in go-go girl outfits. PSA is a precursor to Southwest Airlines who made headlines by asking a young woman to exit the plane because of her outfit. Basically, if you think back to all of the offensive things you have seen or experienced on an airplane, where does a young, marginally attractive woman in a miniskirt find its continued . . .
By now, you’ve probably heard about the now discontinued 4GB iPhone and the $200 price drop debacle. Hot off the press for today, however, is a brand new controversy that probably won’t make the front page and might only exist in my head. Today, Apple released Logic Studio, a long awaited update to the Logic Pro audio software which caused many longtime Logic users to rejoice. Here is where it gets a little mealy, the new Logic Studio sells for $499 which is half the cost of the previous version of Logic Pro ($999). That’s right, continued . . .
I spotted a referral URL in my visitor log which originated in a google search of the search terms pictured above. As nice as it is to see myself in the pole position I don’t think I really want to publish the searched terms on my site again.
The good people over at treehugger.com have recently stated that, “We really should all be driving electric vehicles.” While I commend their leadership ethic, you really have to wonder what would happen if every American suddenly switched to an electric vehicle? My first instinct is that electricity consumption would skyrocket and a quick trip over to the DOE website confirms my second suspicion that most of America’s electricity is generated by burning coal. In fact, coal is responsible for about 50% of our electricity. The other major contributors in the most alarming order are nuclear fission, continued . . .
Up until about 3 weeks ago, I was suffering from an addiction to Au Bon Pain. It started out as an occasional lunch option but after a couple of months I was ritually eating breakfast and lunch from ABP several times a week. The romance was gone, it was costing a lot of money, and people were starting to make jokes about my habitual lunch pattern around the office. I knew I had to quit and ultimately, their online nutritional information was all the motivation I needed. Don’t get me wrong, I love junk food, I continued . . .
is still Bon Jovi and no amount of orchestration in the style of Elenor Rigby can turn you back into a relevant pop star.
Alt Title: It’s a damn shame throwing away a perfectly good word like that I’ve noticed a trend, particularly among finicky eaters, where people use the phrase ‘with no’ when the word ‘without’ would be grammatically correct and more effective. For example, “I would like a ham and cheese sandwich with no cheese.” Even though it is the exact same number of syllables, it makes absolutely no sense. Furthermore, the phrase ‘with no’ generates a statistically significant amount of communication errors resulting in finicky eaters who are also ornery because they get served the wrong food all the continued . . .
